Michael Marsal is a relative newcomer to motorsport, and can be admired for turning his love of racing from a passion into a profession by taking on the Porsche Club of America competition following his first taste of a formula car at Road America.
Marsal, from New York, immediately began picking up trophies on some of America’s most hallowed asphalt, although his time racing Porsches only served as a precursor to big time appearances in Grand-Am and the Rolex Sports Car Series.
A one-off start on the streets of Trois-Rivieres in 2009 led to a full-time campaign with BMW powerhouse, Turner Motorsport, in 2010, when he impressively jumped to the sharp end of the Grand Sport (GS) class while sharing driving duties with Joey Hand.
The ambitious and enthusiastic gentleman racer continued to develop his racecraft and clocked-up countless laps as part of the Caterham SP/300R development team.
And this experience, coupled with his various GT and LMP successes have served Marsal well in the opening rounds of the inaugural TUDOR United SportsCar Championship at Daytona and Sebring as part of 8Star Motorsports’ all-star driver line-up.
